About Fred

Fred Wilson has been a noted chess bookseller, author and teacher for over 40 years. During the last three decades he has become increasingly involved in teaching chess to children, and now runs the highly regarded chess programs at City and Country School and Grace Church School, both in New York City. Fred won the Chess Journalist of the Year Award for 2003, and was awarded the Outstanding Career Achievement Award in 2019 by the United States Chess Federation.
